Archived Timely Warnings - 2021

Note: This message is being provided so that members of the SF State community can make informed decisions regarding their personal safety and/or assist in apprehending an at-large suspect.  As such, it may contain information of a graphic nature that could trigger emotional responses, in particular for victims/survivors of sexual assault/sexual violence.  If you are a student and need emotional support, please contact Counseling & Psychological Services by calling (415) 338-2208 or visiting Student Services Building 205 on Monday-Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm and closed between 12:00 to 1:00pm.  Additional crisis support services can be reached by all SF State community members by calling the San Francisco Crisis Line at (415) 781-0500.

On August 31, 2021, at approximately 01:20 PM University Police received a report of a robbery next to the Station Café located at 3575 19th Ave.

The victim reported that while seated in the area of the Station Café, an unknown suspect approached and grabbed a laptop from their immediate possession. In an attempted to retrieve the laptop, the victim sustained a laceration from an unknown source during the process. No weapon was seen which may have caused the minor injury.  The victim did not pursue the suspect for fear of their safety.

The suspect fled to a nearby waiting vehicle that was parked at the bus stop located at the corner of 19th Avenue and Holloway. The suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing southbound on 19th Avenue towards Crespi Drive. The victim stated the suspect was wearing a black SFSU sweatshirt, black pants, and a black colored surgical mask. The suspect vehicle is described as a black Toyota Camry with tinted windows and no plates.  There is no description on the driver of the vehicle. 

If anyone saw or heard any part of this incident or may have further suspect information, please come forward and contact the San Francisco State University Police Department at (415) 338-2222 or on the anonymous tip line at (415) 338-3030. 

In response to this incident, UPD is increasing patrols in this area of campus.  Members of the SF State community are encouraged to remain alert and observant; please report any suspicious or concerning activity to UPD immediately.  If you feel unsafe, contact the University Police Department.
